Our Philosophy
Our philosophy is one of dedicated commitment to helping you choose the very best in-home care, focusing on the right match of client and caregiver.
Our founder, Steffi Gaines, has a deep and abiding love for her work, and a passion for helping others.
Steffi is determined to provide an alternative to the world of board and care, assisted living, and convalescent facilities that allows people to stay in the loving intimacy of home, surrounded by comfort and familiarity.
When I was asked to write a paragraph about my best friend, Steffi, I thought about it for a while and then realized that writing only a paragraph is, frankly, impossible. So, I will do my best to reflect the true essence of who this remarkable woman in as few words as possible.
Passion is the first word I think of when I describe Steffi. She has the innate ability to instill passion in everything she does. If she sees a stray dog, she rescues it. If she sees a person in need, she’s there to help. No story is too small. No person is unimportant.
Steffi loves, or to put it more succinctly, needs to share with you the stories of the people in her life – she wants to share with you the joy she feels when someone that she’s just met inspires her with their courage. The sadness she feels when someone she cares for passes away. The happiness she feels when she can help to ease someone’s pain. Or the injustice she sees when the elderly and the poor are abused and the system fails to take care of them.
To know Steffi is to be inspired by her. It just rubs off on you. Steffi draws you in as if you’re the most important person in the world and your story is the most important. And to her, it is! She makes you feel that you are worthwhile. She always finds the good in you and in your situation. She listens to you when you are sad, or feel helpless. She makes you want to be a better person because she believes you ARE a better person. She draws you into her life and wraps her arms around you, and it feels good to be there.
Steffi never asks for anything for herself. She never expects anything. She never feels entitled. Sometimes she’s sad, sometimes she’s exhausted, sometimes she’s lonely. But through it all she keeps going. Because I know she has many, many people in her life who love her, many, many people in her life who inspire her, and many, many people in her life who help HER be a better person.
